Life is Fair
Is Life Really Unfair?
Have you wept over your life that you feel is unfair? Have you ever felt that the universe is not on your side?
You might often find yourself trapped in the thought that life is unfair. Difficulties, disappointments, and frustrations make you feel like the world is against you. But is life really unfair, or is it perhaps your perspective that is unfair?
We need to acknowledge that everyone faces different challenges. Some are tested by poverty, some by illness, and others by their physical conditions, while some seem to lead easier lives. However, if we look deeper, we will find that everyone, without exception, faces their own tests.
Life provides different opportunities and challenges to each person, and how we respond to them is what truly makes the difference. When we feel that life is unfair, it is often a reflection of our minds focusing on the negative aspects. Our minds tend to magnify things that don’t go as expected and ignore the good things we have experienced. Fairness does not mean everyone gets the same outcome in every situation but that life gives us lessons suited to what we need to grow and develop.
In Islam, it is explained that, "Indeed, Allah does not wrong anyone even to the extent of an atom's weight" (Qur'an, Surah An-Nisa: 40). This shows that Allah gives each of His creations their due rights and balance according to His wisdom. There is no injustice from Allah, but absolute justice in all His affairs. Allah does not burden a soul beyond its capacity (Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah: 286), and all His decrees are tests designed to assess our faith, patience, and sincerity.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it -Helen Keller
